Thank you for coming to my page. I believe in the saying “Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.” I am lucky to be a part of Kolhapur, where I found the treasure of my life, inspired by the works of Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. I have always taken part in making Kolhapur a role model in every aspect as done by Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. When I started my social life in 1991 as a Chairman of Shivaji University Council, I scrutinized at a micro level the problems that affect the progress of an individual. This experience led me to think on a bigger level and I began to participate in support of various social issues. This made my confidence level go up, and since then I have taken many initiatives in the development of Kolhapur's infrastructure as well as upliftment of the standard of living of Kolhapurkars. I had the honor to serve as the Minister of State for Home, Rural Development and FDA from Nov.2010 to June 2014 wherein I placed a ban on Gutakha for better health of our youth. During this time I was focused on rejuvenating and maintaining the monuments developed by Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. This motivated me in obtaining a sanction of Rs. 1,150 Crores for the development of Kolhapur, out of which Rs. 425 Crores were dedicated towards the supply of pure and safe drinking water from Kalammawadi Dam which was a much-awaited demand of Kolhapurkars. I have always been mindful of carrying out all these development projects without disturbing the serene beauty of my city. These beautiful and pollution-free surroundings are a gift from our ancestors & the Almighty, which we must pass on to our future generations in even better condition than it is now. I request everyone to be a part of this treasure because as said by great author Paulo Coelho “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it”..
I am thankful to the Indian National Congress office bearers for giving me another opportunity in January 2020 to work as a Minister of State for Home(Urban), Housing, Transport, Information Technology, Parliamentary Affairs & Ex. Servicemen Welfare, Govt. of Maharashtra.
Have a great time
