DYP Trust has been organizing ”Gruhini Mahotsav” -festival of housewives-engaged in producing domestic household/food products through Self Help Groups(SHG). Since last four years, our trust organizes the Festival on the occasion of international Women’s Day on 8th March, to uplift the rural as well as urban women to encourage & explore their hidden abilities. Many prominent personalities and successful women officers, business personalities have visited the Festival and appreciated the move.
Every year more than 250 stalls are offered free of cost to SHG’s. During these three days cultural programs / competitions are also arranged wherein rural women participate in large number. All these activities are undertaken as a part of women’s Day. Members of SHG’s from rural as well as urban area are engaged in producing different articles, food products, handicrafts etc. Most of the SHG’s are unable to sale their products, as they are not getting opportunity to interact with consumers. To have this interaction between SHG’s and consumers we have been arranging Gruhini Mahotsav since last 10 years, which is helping in increasing the income of members of SHG’s and hence improve their family living standard. Our beneficiaries are from lower income group and hence they cannot participate in commercial exhibitions which are charging Rs.3000/- to Rs.15,000/- per stall.
